Readers' Comments
A selection of comments made by readers of The Long Circle:
"This
is a great adventure yarn that I found hard to put down. Mainly I loved the
characters seamlessly coming into the story and making it richer, so this
medieval world of Teynland came to life. The plot kept me wondering right until
the end and the mix of a journey of a man and getting to know the characters
made this a book I really got into. This author has a great instinct for story
telling that takes you somewhere you don't want to leave."

"I describe
the story as 'riveting' when recommending the book to others. Of the opening
scenes in The Long Circle, the word 'atmospheric' came to mind."

"This
was a well crafted book with layer upon layer of rich description. Whether it
was custom or costume, settlement or strategy - the narrative never failed to
inspire a sense of time and place, with the yarn moving comfortably through the
changing landscapes that so obviously inspire the author. I was gripped by the
pace of each unfolding conflict and charmed by the familiarity of the
characters. I'm sure I've sat around that same campfire, having those same
conversations in a previous life!"

"I
liked the adventurous aspect of this tale and enjoyed being immersed into
another time and discovering rich descriptions of craftsmanship. I also liked
the political, almost utopian approach of a young man who might be given the
possibility to build, or at least transform a society, surrounded by men of
experience. After reading this book I bought more copies for friends."

"Check out UK radio host Ian Bellard's book, 'The Long Circle.' I'm half way through and thoroughly enjoying a medieval world of intriguing battles of good over evil. The accounts of treks through Brit-style landscapes are so vivid they take me right back to hikes I've taken myself in some of the wilder regions of UK."

"Ian
produces a variety of work. His writing style is varied, keeping the reader on
their toes."
Sue - Runcorn, UK
"A right good read."
